Arouna Kone pens new deal with Sivasspor

ARŞİV - Demir Grup Sivasspor, Arouna Kone ile 1 yıllık sözleşme yeniledi.

Ex-Ivory Coast international striker Arouna Kone has signed a one-year contract extension with Turkish Super Lig club Sivasspor.

The 36-year-old, who has been with the Yigidos since 2017, has scored seven goals in 29 league appearances.

He will thus remain at the club for the 2020-21 season. The new contract will see the former Sevilla and Everton forward help Sivasspor when they play in the Europa League group stage for the first-time in their history.

Kone joined Sivasspor in 2017, following the expiry of his four-year contract at Everton.

He spent five years in England, spending a year at Wigan Athletic where he enjoyed a fine goalscoring run of 11 goals in 34 league appearances and he also helped the Latics clinch the FA Cup in the 2012-13 campaign.

Kone has established himself in Riza Calimbay’s system and he helped Sivasspor secure qualification for next season’s Europa League after their fourth-place finish in the Super Lig table.
