Sarah Kaufman vs Claudia Leite headlines PAWFC on January 15

The maiden edition of the professional all-women Mixed Martial Arts, Pallas Athena Women’s Fighting Championship (PAWFC), is set to take place on Saturday, 15th January 2022 in Canada.

A clash between Sarah Kaufman and Claudia Leite will headline PAWFC in a Bantamweight title fight at the Grey Eagle Resort & Casino.

Pallas Athena Women’s Fighting Championship (PAWFC) is the first of its kind created for women to promote women in the sport and bring women’s mixed martial arts to the forefront and promote women in the sport. 

Canada’s Kaufman ( 22-5) is the former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion. She was the first Strikeforce Women’s Bantamweight Champion and was also the first and only Hardcore Championship Fighting Women’s Bantamweight Champion.

The 36-year-old has fought many great fighters, including Miesha Tate, Ronda Rousey, Alexis Davis, Leslie Smith, Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Eye.

Her opponent, Claudia Leite, from Sao Paulo in Brazil, is the current champion in her division on NC Fights. Leite (8-2) has locked horns with great fighters like Alessandra Tainara, Janaina Calves Barbosa, Priscila de Souza, and lastly Tanya Lamounier Vieira.

In other two co-main events, Brazil’s Laura Fontoura will face Andy Nguyen of the United States of America in a Strawweight title bout, whiles Tanya Nijjar of Canada battles Dakota Ditcheva from the United Kingdom in a non title fight.
