It has been revealed that UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov made an astonishing $16.5m from 2019 to 2020.
The MMA athlete has also been reportedly named Russia’s ‘most successful’ celebrity or athlete under the age of 40.
Khabib boasts 28 wins in the UFC, and currently holds the longest active undefeated streak.
The 31-year-old, though, has not fought in a competitive bout since successfully defending his title against Dustin Poirier at UFC242.
According to Forbes, Khabib earned more than most athletes in Russia, including ice hockey stars Alexander Ovechkin and Artemi Panarin.
He is said to have made his millions in the year under review through UFC fights, sponsorships and speaking events.
The Dagestan-born fighter has endorsement deals with Reebok, Gorilla Energy drink, Toyota and Alhadaya (black cumin oil).
The publication from Forbes indicated that Khabib could have made over $10m from his last fight against Poirier.
The fighter’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, claimed on Twitter that the UFC lightweight champion makes $300,000 from his engagements in public-speaking.
“This is little bit wrong his speaking engagements 300k per day minimum,” Abdelaziz wrote.
