Letesenbet Gidey, 22, from Ethiopia has broken the women’s 5,000m world record.
She achieved the feat in Valencia at the NN Valencia World Record Day where she beat the previous record by over four seconds.
Gidey, clocked 14 minutes 6.62 seconds to better the 14mins 11.15secs set by Tirunesh Dibaba in 2008.

The NN Valencia World Record Day is a one-off event taking place in the Spanish city.
