After seven seasons with Leicester City, Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho is leaving the club as a free agent. Iheanacho’s contract expires at the end of June, and Leicester has confirmed that they will not offer him an extension.
During his time at Leicester City, Iheanacho made significant contributions, scoring 61 goals in 232 appearances. His impressive performances played a crucial role in the club’s achievements, including their FA Cup (2021), FA Community Shield (2021), and EFL Championship victory in 2024.
Iheanacho’s decision to leave Leicester City comes after rejecting a new contract offer from the club, worth £65,000 per week.
Aston Villa has expressed interest in signing the talented striker, who is seeking more playing time and a new challenge in his career.
