Sevilla are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Montpellier HSC forward Akor Adams, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The 24-year-old Nigerian striker has been one of Montpellier’s standout players this season, contributing three goals and three assists despite the club’s struggles at the bottom of Ligue 1.
Adams, who joined Montpellier in the summer of 2023, has become the team’s focal point in attack. Since his move from Norway, he has scored 13 goals in 49 appearances for La Paillade.
However, Sevilla appear close to securing his services, with Romano reporting that only the final details remain before the deal is finalized.
The transfer is expected to be a permanent move, although the financial terms have yet to be disclosed.
Montpellier, grappling with financial difficulties and the threat of relegation to Ligue 2, have been forced to consider selling some of their key players.
Adams, one of their most valuable assets, now looks set to depart as the club seeks to stabilize its finances.
For Sevilla, the potential acquisition of Adams represents an opportunity to bolster their attacking options as they aim to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
