All you need to know about Richard Commey vs Vasiliy Lomachenko fight tonight

Ghanaian boxer, Richard Commey, is set to face Ukranian Vasily Lomanchenko on Sunday morning at the Madison Square Garden in the United States of America.

The duo will lock horns in New York City in Top Rank’s main event. The winner will become mandatory challenger to the IBF Lightweight title held by Australian George Kamboses.

Lomachenko and Commey have both lost to Teofimo Lopez, who more recently conceded every major belt in the lightweight division to George Kambosos Jr.

Ahead of the much anticipated fight, Commey said: “I’ve got the whole of my country behind me. I know it’s not an easy fight, but I’m coming.

“I’m feeling good, I’m very excited. This is my second time coming here, I’m very excited to be sitting with Bob Arum for the second time.”

Commey has 27 knockouts in 30 victories and brings a major threat to ending Lomachenko’s resurgence.

“He has big power and he has reach, experience, so for me it will be a very interesting fight for fans,” Lomachenko told Sky Sports.

“During the fight, you need to be always focusing on your strategy, and always focused on your speed and your reaction.”
