American football player Amen Ogbongbemiga has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The Oklahoma State Cowboys star said he contracted the virus after attending a protest in Tulsa, Okla.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, said he was “well protective” of himself when he joined the demonstrations.
He, therefore, urged others to take the needed precaution whenever they step out to partake in protests.
“After attending a protest in Tulsa AND being well protective of myself, I have tested positive for COVID-19,” he tweeted.
“Please, if you are going to protest, take care of yourself and stay safe.”
This comes after OSU players took COVID-19 tests this week in preparation for team workouts later this month.
Meanwhile, Ogbongbemiga will be quarantined in a special on-campus housing at Oklahoma State, as he begins his road to recovery.
