Ghana's Nurudeen Abdulai grabbed his first league goal of the season and the match award as Dunfermline battered Inverness in the Scottish Championship.
Ghanaian centre-back Nurudeen Abdulai had a Saturday to remember in Scotland, scoring his first league goal of the season and taking Man of the Match honours as Dunfermline Athletic hammered Inverness CT 5-1 in the Scottish Championship. The former Medeama SC man was a commanding presence at the back and capped his display with a well-taken finish.
It did not start well for the hosts. Inverness struck first in the 11th minute, when Alfie Bavidge stayed cool from the spot to put the visitors in front. But Dunfermline came out after the break a different side.
Nigerian forward Olamilekan Adams levelled things just two minutes after the restart, and the floodgates opened. Oliver Shaw then grabbed a brace between the 54th and 63rd minutes, flipping the contest on its head and leaving Inverness chasing shadows.
Abdulai joined the party in the 68th minute, meeting a pass from Andrew Tod to make it 4-1. Substitute Kian Corbally rounded off the rout in the 79th minute with the fifth, sealing a dominant second-half showing and three big points for Dunfermline.
For Abdulai, the goal and the individual award are a welcome boost, and another sign of African talent making its mark in the Scottish game, with Ghana and Nigeria both represented in a statement win.
