Ghana's Frank Junior Adjei created the breakthrough goal and ran the midfield as Hammarby swept aside Elfsborg at the 3Arena.
Ghanaian midfielder Frank Junior Adjei was at the heart of Hammarby's dominant 4-1 win over IF Elfsborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan, supplying the pass that broke the deadlock at the 3Arena.
The contest was tight and tense until the 39th minute, when Adjei picked out Paulos Abraham. The forward finished with composure to put the hosts in front, and the home side never looked back.
Abraham struck again in the 58th minute, this time set up by goalkeeper Warner Hahn. Seven minutes later Elfsborg defender Thomas Isherwood turned the ball into his own net, and Montader Madjed made it 4-0 in the 76th minute. Leo Östman pulled one back for the visitors in the 81st minute, but it was only a consolation as Hammarby comfortably saw out the win.
Adjei was withdrawn in stoppage time after an influential shift in midfield. The assist is his second of the campaign, to go with three goals, across 25 appearances in the Allsvenskan.
