Afghanistan and Bangladesh go head-to-head in a one-off Test in Abu Dhabi, with two rising Test sides chasing a statement result.
Two ambitious Test nations meet in Abu Dhabi as Afghanistan take on Bangladesh in a one-off five-day showdown. With only one match to settle it, every session carries weight and there is no series to recover in.
Afghanistan have come a long way since joining the Test ranks in 2018, and this fixture is another chance to show how far their game has grown. Bangladesh bring far more experience in the longest format, having played Tests since 2000, so the contest pits a young side's hunger against a rival eager to prove its own credentials.
Abu Dhabi has become a familiar stage for Afghanistan, and conditions there will shape the match. Spin is likely to feature heavily, and both squads have the tweakers to make the most of any help from the surface. Opening partnerships, the first-innings platform and how each side handles the turning ball in the fourth innings are the things to watch.
