Alex Song Confirmed He Joined Barcelona Because of Money

{{unknown}}

The Ex Cameroon International, Alex Song has opened up that his move from Arsenal to Barcelona in 2012 was because of money.

Alex Song has been talking about his move from Arsenal to Barcelona and has explained he knew he wouldn't play much at the Camp Nou but didn't really care because of the wages on offer.

Song whose contract was terminated by Swiss side Sion FC after a report that he refusing to take a pay cut amid the coronavirus crises spoke about the transfer in an Instagram chat with Pascal Siakam.

"I spent eight years at Arsenal, but it wasn't until my last four that I can say that I started earning a good living, because my salary increased considerably",

"I wasted a lot of money, I was going to expensive dinners, trips and holidays, during those eight years I couldn't even keep 100,000 pounds in my bank account.

I thought I was a millionaire but that was not the reality, I was making 15,000 pounds per week". During his early career in North London.

The midfielder made the switch from north London in 2012 and went on to spend four years with the Catalan giants. However, in that time he hardly saw any game time, a situation that did not come as a shock.

The 32 years old eventually left for West Ham United and then had spells with Rubin Kazan in Russia and FC Sion in Switzerland.
