Ghana's Ampem Darkoa came from behind to rout USFAS Bamako 5-1 and seize top spot in Group B of the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League.
Ghana's Ampem Darkoa Ladies announced themselves at the 2026 CAF Women's Champions League in style, storming back from an early deficit to crush Mali's USFAS Bamako 5-1 and climb to the summit of Group B.
The WAFU B champions were rocked after just 12 minutes when Oumou Kone slipped a delicate finish past goalkeeper Rose Teye Baah. But the Ghanaian side did not flinch. Two quick goals before the interval, from Angelina Yeboah and Patricia Agyei, flipped the contest on its head and left the Malian side chasing shadows.
The second half belonged to Ampem Darkoa. Yeboah completed her brace after the restart, then Beline Nyarko and Amoh piled on further goals to turn a comeback into a statement win and send a warning to the rest of the group.
Coach Charles Anokye Frimpong was beaming afterwards, praising the way his players handled the occasion and delivered an effective display in their opening fixture. He said he was "very happy and excited" to see the girls express themselves with good football and secure such a convincing victory.
With three points banked and confidence soaring, the Ghanaian champions now have the early momentum in Group B as the continental race heats up.
