Kimi Antonelli dominated the US Grand Prix to beat Leclerc and Verstappen, leaving the title decider for Mexico next weekend.
Kimi Antonelli put on another commanding performance at the Circuit of the Americas, winning the US Grand Prix and moving to the brink of the Formula One world championship. The Mercedes driver couldn't wrap up the title in Texas, but the celebration looks like it has only been pushed back by a week.
At just 20, the championship leader drove with a poise that belied his age. He controlled the race from the front and held off Charles Leclerc's Ferrari in second, while Max Verstappen's Red Bull completed the podium in third.
Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff called the result "one small step" toward the championship. It was a fitting line for a season in which the young Italian has made giant leaps, turning promise into consistent, race-winning form.
All eyes now turn to Mexico, where Antonelli has a chance to finish the job. With the title within reach, the pressure will be on, but his calm in Austin suggests he's ready for it.
