Arsenal finally banish their winless streak with victory at Tottenham, but the real test is whether they can build on it.
Arsenal have their win at last. After five Women's Super League matches without victory, the Gunners went to Tottenham and got the result they badly needed, easing a lot of the pressure that had been building around the club.
A winless run like that gets uncomfortable quickly at a club with Arsenal's expectations. Questions about form, confidence and direction were growing louder, so a north London derby win is a welcome release, with bragging rights as a bonus.
The harder question is what comes next. One win stops the slide, but it does not fix everything. Arsenal now have to show they can turn relief into rhythm, with consistent performances and results that put them back in the conversation at the top of the table.
For now, the Gunners can take the three points and the lift that comes with them. The league is unforgiving, though, and the next few fixtures will show whether this was the start of a turnaround or just a brief break in a difficult spell.
