AS Roma becomes second Serie A club missing from FIFA 21

Share

AS Roma has joined Juventus as the second Serie A side that will not feature on FIFA 21, having been taken out of the franchise.

This follows an announcement by EA Sports that both teams will have different named in the game.

AS Roma will be named Roma FC, while Juventus will appear as 'Piemonte Calcio' in the upcoming release.

EA Sports, however, noted that players and likenesses will still be authentic in the game.

"AS Roma will now be Roma FC, playable and equipped with a custom badge and kit throughout Kick-Off, Career Mode, FIFA Ultimate Team and VOLTA FOOTBALL," a statement said.

"Roma FC will now compete in Stadion Olympik. You can still expect to see the same AS Roma real-world, authentic players and related likenesses in EA Sports FIFA 21 and EA Sports FIFA 21 Ultimate Team.

"Player Chemistry within EA SPORTS FIFA 21 Ultimate Team will be unaffected by these changes. We'd like to thank everyone at AS Roma for the years of collaboration as the team's Official Sports Video Gaming partner."

Last year, Juventus signed an exclusivity deal with Pro Evolution Soccer, which made them no longer part of the EA Sports franchise.
