FC AshantiGold's home run stalled at Len Clay Stadium as Young Apostles dug in for a hard-earned 0-0 draw in Ghana Premier League Week 10.
The Ghana Premier League served up a stalemate in the Gold City on Sunday, as FC AshantiGold failed to stretch their strong home form and were held 0-0 by Young Apostles at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
The Miners arrived full of belief after their 2-1 comeback win over Swedru All Blacks in the previous round, and were eager to turn the Obuasi crowd into a platform for another victory. But Young Apostles had other plans, defending with discipline and refusing to give their hosts any real breathing room.
The visitors came in on the back of three straight games without a win, yet looked like a different team on the road. Their organisation and work rate frustrated AshantiGold throughout, and they even threatened to snatch all three points late on.
The biggest moment arrived in the 70th minute, when goalkeeper Fatao Seidu produced a brilliant save to keep the Apostles out and protect his clean sheet. It was a decisive intervention at a time when the game could easily have tilted away from the home side.
In the end, neither side could find the net. AshantiGold now have to reflect on two points dropped at home, while Young Apostles will happily take a valuable point from Obuasi as they look to rebuild momentum.
