Ater Majok gets new basketball home after US Monastir signing

Thirty-two (32) year old Ater James Majok, has found for himself a new professional home to continue his basketball career, after signing a new contract with Tunisian side, Union Sportive Monastirienne, widely known as US Monastir.

The announcement was made by global basketball news site, sportando.basketball, indicating that, Majok will leave the New Zealand Breakers to join Monastir on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

The Sudanese-born Australian-Lebanese, Majok, played 10 games in the Australian NBL, where he averaged 6.5 minutes and scored 1.6 points per game.

Aside signing Majok who was drafted by Los Angeles Lakers in the 2011 NBA draft with the 58th overall pick, the Tunisian champions, Monstir has also American shooting guard Chris Crawford ahead of the March, 2020, Basketball Africa League (BAL).

US Monastir Basketball Club won the 2019 Tunisian Basketball League title for the first time in 14 years with a 3 - 1 win in the League finals series in the best of five.

Monastir clinched the title with a 79-73 win in Game 4 over ES Rades, ending a solid run that had the team beat AfroLeague semifinalist JS Kairouan in the semifinals.
