FC Barcelona has confirmed that strike Luis Suarez will be joining Atletico Madrid following an agreement between the two teams.
In a statement, the Catalonian side said Atletico will pay a fee of 6 million euros for the services of the Uruguayan striker.
Suarez has spent six years at Barcelona, where he has scored 198 goals and won 13 titles.
“FC Barcelona would like to publicly express their gratitude to Luis Suárez for his commitment and dedication and wishes him all the best for the future,” a statement from the club said.

Suarez is one of many players who have been declared persona non grata by new Barca coach Ronaldo Koeman.
Meanwhile, the striker expressed his gratitude to the club and its fans for their support over the last six years.
“I have experienced many moments that will remain in my memory. The first league title, the Champions League, to play with wonderful players. It has been incredible,” Suarez said.
“I have had six spectacular and wonderful years with great team-mates and the people around the club, which I will remember."
“You have to appreciate that I am proud of these six years that I have been at the club. I will always be grateful to Barça for allowing me to experience wonderful and unforgettable moments."
