Ex-Hearts of Oak striker Bernard Arthur says the end is near, but a convincing offer could still tempt him back onto the pitch.
Ghanaian attacker Bernard Arthur, a former Hearts of Oak and Liberty Professionals forward, has hinted that his playing days may be drawing to a close, with family, business and a more relaxed life now taking priority.
The 29-year-old is currently without a club after his most recent spell with Malaysian side Melaka FC. Even so, he is not ready to say goodbye officially. Arthur insists he has not retired and would consider a return to active football if the right proposal landed on his table.
In a chat with Koforidua-based Swiit FM, the forward admitted he is edging closer to the finish line and has become far more selective about his next step. He explained that offers falling short of his expectations are no longer on the agenda, as he wants to spend more time with loved ones, grow his businesses and enjoy life away from the grind.
Still, Arthur made it clear that the fire has not completely gone out. He believes he has the quality to compete at the professional level, and says only a truly convincing offer would bring him back to the pitch. For now, one of Ghana's well-travelled attackers is weighing his options and enjoying the freedom of deciding on his own terms.
