Ghana's Black Maidens refused to fold, twice erasing Brazil leads to snatch a 3-3 draw at the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
Ghana's Black Maidens showed real fight on the world stage, coming from behind twice to draw 3-3 with Brazil on Wednesday night in their second game at the 2026 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
Brazil struck first. Nicolly found the net in the seventh minute, and the favourites looked set to take control. Ghana stayed composed and kept pushing. In the 31st minute, Rafia Osman levelled the score. Four minutes later, Gloria Ameaa put the Black Maidens in front, and Ghana had turned the game around.
The lead did not last until the break. Kaillany Rafinah pulled Brazil level at 2-2 in the 44th minute, so the sides went in even after a lively first half.
Brazil came out of the interval with more purpose, and Indy restored their advantage with a strike in the 57th minute to make it 3-2. Ghana were behind for the second time, but they did not wilt. The Black Maidens found a way back and levelled the match at 3-3, a result that showed their resilience against one of the tournament's heavyweights.
The point is a confidence boost for a young Ghana side that went toe-to-toe with Brazil in a six-goal thriller and gave nothing away.
