Ghana's Black Maidens have studied Argentina and say they're ready to fight for a U-17 Women's World Cup quarter-final spot.
Ghana's Black Maidens are one match away from a World Cup quarter-final, and the coaching staff says the young Africans are ready for it. The Ghana U-17 women's side meets Argentina in the Round of 16 of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, with kickoff set for 15:00 GMT on Wednesday.
Assistant coach Bashiru-Deen Sumaila says the technical team has done its homework. The coaches have studied Argentina closely and sat the players down to go through what Ghana must do, where to adjust, and which danger areas to handle with the most care.
Sumaila stressed tactical discipline and concentration, especially in denying Argentina chances. The staff has built the plan around the opposition's strengths, and the aim is for Ghana to stay organised, stay sharp and punish any slip.
The mood in camp is confident. Sumaila described the players as poised and focused, promised the team will give everything, and predicted a Ghana win. A quarter-final place is the prize, and the Black Maidens have the chance to take it on a global stage.
