Ghana's Black Queens hammered Mauritius 7-0 in Essipong to book a spot in the third round of LA 2028 Olympic qualifying.
Ghana's Black Queens are one step closer to Los Angeles 2028 after a ruthless 7-0 demolition of Mauritius at the Essipong Stadium on Tuesday, sealing a place in the third round of Olympic qualifying.
The result capped a 10-0 aggregate romp for Ghana, who had already laid the groundwork with a 3-0 win in Mauritius last Thursday. Under coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, the hosts dictated the second leg from the first whistle, using their pace and power to pile up chance after chance in the final third.
Captain Portia Boakye broke the deadlock, Evelyn Badu doubled the lead, and Ajegipina Zakaria made it 3-0 before the break. Mauritius had no answer after the restart as Ghana kept the pressure on, and the bench made an instant difference. Benedicte Simon struck in the 73rd minute shortly after coming on, Jennifer Cudjoe made it five in the 87th, and late goals from Nancy Amoh and Mukarama Abdula completed the rout.
The win keeps alive Ghana's quest for a historic first Olympic qualification, and with a goal haul like this, the Black Queens are sending a clear message to the rest of the continent: they are coming for that ticket to LA.
