Ghana's Black Queens hit the Essipong pitch today holding a 3-0 lead over Mauritius, one step from the next round of Olympic qualifying.
Ghana's Black Queens are one match from taking another big stride toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. They hold a commanding 3-0 advantage over Mauritius, and the final preparations begin this evening at Essipong Sports Stadium.
The team will hold its official Matchday-1 training session at 16:00, a one-hour run-out. In line with competition regulations, the media will be allowed in for only the first 15 minutes before the doors close and the serious work begins.
That work belongs to head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who is expected to use the session to sharpen the team's final tactical details. The Queens won the first leg in Mauritius last week, so the task now is to finish the job at home and avoid any slip that could let the visitors back into the tie.
Kick-off for the second leg is set for 15:00 on Tuesday at Essipong. With a three-goal cushion and home support behind them, Ghana will fancy their chances of sealing progress to the next round of the Olympic qualifiers.
