Share

The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has banned Zimbabwe Football Association from hosting international matches, because the stadium in the country did not meet the required standard.
According to Confederation of African Football, CAF, the ban is due to the poor condition of its stadiums, Zimbabwe's national team have to host Algeria in the African Cup of Nation 2021 qualifier. Upon Confederation of African Football, CAF ,inspection, they realized that the stadium in the country did not meet the requirement.

Zimbabwe's national team will, therefore, have to play their AFCON 2021 qualifier match against Algeria in a foreign stadium.
The economic crisis of Zimbabwe for the past 20 years, which has recently worsened with the return of hyperinflation, commodity shortages and widespread of power cut has made it difficult for the nation to improve their stadium.
