CAF Bans, Fines Eto’o for Misconduct at AFCON 2025

The CAF Disciplinary Board has charged the President of Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) Samuel Eto’o Fils, with misconduct following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations match between Morocco and Cameroon, played in Rabat on January 9.
After reviewing the matter, the CAF Disciplinary Board found Eto’o guilty of violating the principles of sportsmanship as stipulated under Article 2(3) of the CAF Statutes and Article 82 of the CAF Disciplinary Code, in relation to his conduct during the match.
As a result, the Disciplinary Board imposed a ban preventing Eto’o from attending the next four official CAF matches played within the framework of the AFCON 2025. In addition, a fine of $20,000 has been levied against the former player.
CAF reaffirmed its firm stance against all forms of misconduct, stressing that such behaviour brings the game into disrepute.
