On November 27, 2021, CAF held a meeting in Cairo where several hot topics have been discussed. The Confederation had to make a decision on important events concerning the upcoming AFCON, the World Cup Qualifiers Playoffs and the CAF Super Cup. These dates have been preliminarily set up for the World Cup Qualifiers Playoffs. A total of 10 teams reached the Third and Final Round of the African Qualifiers. The group winners of the Second Stage will be divided into five head-to-head two-legged matches. The winners of each fixture will directly qualify for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 which will take place in November-December. The teams will be seeded through the official FIFA World Rankings. The top 5 ranked teams amongst the qualified will have the advantage to play at home in the second leg of the deciding Knockout Phase. So far, Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, and Nigeria will enjoy this benefit, while the lower-ranked national teams include Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Mali, Congo DR. Cote d'Ivoire and South Africa are the biggest upsets in the Qualifying Stage so far as they couldn't go past the Second Round, getting eliminated by Cameroon and Ghana respectively.  The CAF Super Cup between the winners of the two most notable club tournaments in Africa was also discussed on the meeting. The winners of the CAF Champions League, Al Ahly, and the winners of the CAF Confederations Cup, Raja Casablanca, will face each other in February 2022 in Qatar.
