Cameroonian Joel Embiid breaks franchise record as the 76ers cruise past the Rockets

Joel Embiid took command in Philadelphia as he displayed yet another marvelous performance. He finished off with 31 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists for his team's win over the Rockets, 91-111. His amazing form continues as this was his 7th straight game with at least 30 points. Philly came in a bit short-handed as Tyrese Maxey tested positive for Covid-19, white Seth Curry has been given some rest due to ankle issues. However, the team had everything they need in the face of Joel Embiid who has been playing on a whole new level these past weeks. https://twitter.com/sixers/status/1480728378307133442 Andre Drummond dropped a double-double, 13 points and 10 rebounds, for just over 17 minutes of playing time. The rest on Philly's roster slightly disappointed with their performance as nobody could have gone past 13 points for the night. The Houston Rockets was back in full strength for this meeting, but it seems that this won't be enough for them this season. Jalen Green and Christian Wood led their team with just 14 points on a 6-12 and 5-12 shooting respectively. Josh Cristopher ended up with 13 points on 30% FGM. https://twitter.com/ESPNNBA/status/1480723994378588164 Jalen Green, however, had 7 turnovers which came in decisive for the outcome of the match long before its end. On top of that, the Rockets shot just 39% from the field which will rarely be enough for a victory.

Standings and Upcoming Fixtures

This was a seventh straight win for the Philadelphia 76ers who are cruising their way past the top 5 in the East. They are currently 5th with 23 wins and 16 losses, chasing the Milwaukee Bucks and the Miami Heat. Philly will return home for two games in the upcoming days. First, they will face the Charlotte Hornets, while the Boston Celtics will be next on their list. The Rockets remain on the bottom of the table in the Western Conference. They hold an 11-31 record as they will really find it hard to bounce off the last place. The team has won just once in their last 12 meetings in the NBA as their performance has been nothing less than disappointing. Houston is still in its rebuilding stage as they will try to get develop as much as possible this season. The Rockets will go on a 5-game road trip in the West starting on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs. Then, they will play the Sacramento Kings twice over the weekend. The journey will be wrapped up facing off two of the best teams in the NBA - the Golden State Warriors and the Utah Jazz.
