Eugenio Chacarra holds off the chasing pack to win the DP World India Championship and climb to the top of the Race to Dubai.
Eugenio Chacarra is the man to catch on the DP Tour. The Spaniard won the DP World India Championship by two strokes, and the victory sends him to the top of the Race to Dubai standings.
The result matters as much for the table as for the trophy. Chacarra now sits ahead of Patrick Reed and Rory McIlroy, two of the biggest names in the game, in the season-long chase. Leading a field with that kind of star power is a statement.
A two-shot margin shows he kept his nerve when it counted. With elite players looking for any slip, Chacarra stayed steady and closed the job without letting the pressure back in.
The Race to Dubai now has a new frontrunner, and the players behind him have plenty to think about. Reed and McIlroy will want to respond, and the pursuit of the season-long crown looks set to stay tight as the schedule rolls on.
