Chelsea ready to offer Kepa Arrizabalaga for Ter Stegen in swap deal

Chelsea are ready to swap goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga for Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Premier League side brought Kepa to Stamford Bridge just two summers ago in a deal worth £71.6 million.

The deal saw the Spaniard become the world’s most expensive goalkeeper following his move from Athletic Bilbao.

However, Kepa have so far flattered to deceive, having committed a number of errors leading to goals against Frank Lampard’s side.

Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo reports that the Blues are now looking the way of Ter Stegen as a replacement.

Chelsea know it will be hard to lure the Spanish goalie away from Barcelona and are, therefore, hoping for a swap deal.

Meanwhile, Lampard has urged Kepa to up his game, having dropped the 25-year-old during the weekend’s FA Cup semi-final game against Manchester United.

"What do I value in a goalkeeper? I think clearly you want them to be able to be as talented to keep balls out of the net, it's old school but obviously the first and foremost job of what a goalkeeper keeps close to their heart, the idea of clean sheets,” he said.

"It's not always solely on them, of course. For a keeper to have a real desire and talent to produce that.”
