Congolese-born Jonathan Kuminga breaks out for Warriors vs. Bulls

Jonathan Kuminga displayed one heck of a show for dub-nation and NBA fans alike. The 19-year old Congolese born prospect lived up to the opportunity given to him. Helping the Golden State Warriors have their best blowout game against the Chicago Bulls, 138-96.

Kuminga’s athleticism and superb skill set were on full display as he made his presence felt on both ends of the floor.

Being the 7th pick, Kuminga showed why he deserved being a first-round choice for the Warriors— finishing with a game-high 25 points on insane 10-of-12 shooting, 8-of-8 in the field and 2-of-4 from beyond the arc. He added three assists and three blocks to cap off his fantastic night.

The 6'8" rookie is becoming an exceptional standout in his draft class, all because typical players don't get much game time let alone touches on a championship-contending team. A team like the Warriors wouldn't emphasize rookies and their development as they already have a deep bench. But that's where Kuminga shines the most. At this early stage of his career, earning the trust of Steve Kerr is a lot to say about what he can do.

When interviewed after the game, Kuminga gave an answer that shows how mature he is despite his age and rookie status.

<span style="font-weight: 400;">"It's a lot of learning," Kuminga said."I feel like I am getting better. It's a good thing that I am going back out there and getting more comfortable. Getting the minutes that I get and help the team win."</span>

Kuminga seems to be more for a spot-up guy for most parts of the game than puling up. The opposing defense is likely to leave him open on the perimeter, most likely due to his inconsistent shot mechanics.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old's young legs put him in a great position to attack the rim with his explosiveness and create mismatches against smaller defenders on the post with his strength.

Kuminga is set to bridge the gap for the future and present era of Golden state as he continues to become the swiss army knife of the team. Indeed dub-nation fans have something to keep their eye on as the season progress.

Warriors fans will have another chance to expect another spectacular outing as they face off the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday at Target Center.
