Ex-world champion Joe Cordina says a fight with Manny Pacquiao on the Joshua v Fury bill would be a career-defining honour.
Joe Cordina has put his hand up for one of boxing's biggest names. The former world champion says sharing a ring with Manny Pacquiao on the Anthony Joshua v Tyson Fury card would be an honour.
For the Welshman, the appeal is obvious. Pacquiao is one of the most celebrated fighters of his generation, and a bout with him on a stacked heavyweight blockbuster would put Cordina in front of a huge global audience. Cardiff, his home city, would add to the occasion.
Cordina has already tasted life at the top as a world titleholder, and he is clearly keen to get back to that level of exposure. A name like Pacquiao's offers a fast route back to the biggest stages, and a win over a living legend would be a major statement.
Nothing has been made official, and for now this is a fighter making his intentions known. But if the Joshua v Fury card does land in Cardiff, expect Cordina's name to be in the conversation for a place on the bill.
