Eddie Hearn says Joe Cordina has agreed terms to share the ring with Manny Pacquiao on the huge Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua card.
A blockbuster undercard just got a whole lot more interesting. Promoter Eddie Hearn says former world champion Joe Cordina has agreed terms to fight boxing legend Manny Pacquiao on the bill supporting Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua.
For Cordina, this is a golden opportunity. Sharing a card with two of the heaviest hitters in British boxing already guarantees a global audience, and facing a name like Pacquiao puts him in front of fans who might never have watched him otherwise. A win over a fighter of that stature would be one of the biggest moments of his career.
Pacquiao needs little introduction. One of the most celebrated fighters the sport has ever produced, he still draws attention wherever he steps through the ropes. Pairing him with a former world champion on this stage means the support fight carries real weight rather than serving as a warm-up act.
As it stands, Hearn's word is the confirmation, so keep an eye out for official announcements on the full details. Whatever happens, the Fury-Joshua card is shaping up to be loaded from top to bottom.
