Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury Trilogy targeted for 19 December

Share

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury's third fight is being targeted for December 19 with locations "all over the world" still in the running, according to Top Rank executive Brad Jacobs.

Wilder, who is contracted to another WBC heavyweight championship match-up with Fury, was set to go to war for the final time this month in Las Vegas before the coronavirus pandemic forced most of the world to go into lockdown.

And it now appears the Bronze Bomber will get his crack at redemption by facing the Gypsy King for a third time.

"We are focusing on December 19 and are hoping that, by then, we are back to a nearly normal situation," Top Rank's Jacobs told Sky Sports. "That may be a 50 per cent capacity.

"We are looking all over the world, at this point, for the best location for this event. That will be narrowed down and we'll see where it takes us."

Fury is the WBC and lineal champion following his victory over Wilder in their rematch in February and will be hot favourite for their third fight.

Wilder has vowed to come back stronger after the first defeat of his career and even suggested he won’t recognise Fury as champion until after their final meeting is concluded.
