Ghana's Didi Dramani says the Black Stars need unity, continuity and a long-term plan after a disastrous start to the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
Ghana's Black Stars are in crisis, and one of the country's own football voices is demanding a proper reset. Former assistant coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani says the senior national team needs a structured, sustainable rebuild after a shaky opening to the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
The alarm bells have been ringing loudly in Accra. Ghana dropped their first two Group C games, to Ivory Coast and The Gambia, and the fallout cost head coach Carlos Queiroz his job. For a four-time African champion, that start is a jolt.
Dramani, who has also coached Hearts of Oak, believes the problem runs deeper than one bad week. In his view the team looks scattered and lacks the kind of unit that can bring players together and begin grooming the group again. He calls it a process, and says that is exactly where Ghana have been falling short.
His message is that the rebuild cannot be driven only by the panic for immediate results. Ghana, he argues, must be deliberate, consistent and sustainable, with clearly defined objectives and a pathway for where the Black Stars are heading.
For a football-mad nation hungry for stability, the challenge is plain: build something that lasts, or keep living from one qualifier to the next.
