Ghana's football fans get a cheaper way in as DStv rebrands its bouquets, with Starter at GH¢50 and a dedicated Sports tier at GH¢250.
Ghanaian sports fans have a new way to follow the action. DStv Ghana has unveiled four revamped packages under its Expect Plus offering, with the cheapest entry point starting at just GH¢50 a month.
The launch took place at MultiChoice Ghana's offices in Accra on Wednesday, November 4. The old bouquets now have fresh names: Access becomes Starter, Family becomes Select, Compact becomes Sports, and Premium becomes Ultimate. Pricing sits at GH¢50 for Starter, GH¢200 for Select, GH¢250 for Sports and GH¢570 for Ultimate.
For viewers who live and breathe football, the dedicated Sports package is the one to watch. It gives fans a clear, sports-focused tier at a price point below the top-end option, which matters in a market where match-day access can be a serious household budget decision across Ghana and the wider West African region.
MultiChoice Ghana Country Manager Alex Okyere framed the shake-up as evolution rather than a full overhaul. He said the packages offer more content while customers pay less, and that the changes reflect shifting viewing habits. Head of Communications Afua Kissi Ashong promised an improved viewing experience, saying the company has more in store for subscribers.
Whether the new structure delivers real value for the fans who rely on DStv for their weekly football fix will be the test now. For many in Ghana, a lower barrier to entry could open the door to more people watching the games they love.
