Port City boss Christopher Ennin is pleased with a flying start in the top flight, but insists the sky is the limit for his Kukurantumi side.
Christopher Ennin has plenty to smile about. The Port City coach says he is impressed with how his side have settled into life in the Ghana Premier League, where the newly arrived club are already making a loud statement in their first-ever top-flight season.
The Kukurantumi-based team have collected 14 points from their opening eight matches, good enough for fourth place in the table. That return comes from four wins, two draws and two defeats, a record that suggests the debutants belong at this level.
Ennin admits the club had even loftier ambitions at the start of the campaign. The plan was to pick up at least 13 points from the first five games, so 14 from eight is slightly behind that pace. Still, the tactician is far from disappointed. "It is not a bad return," he reflected, promising that his players will keep pushing because, in his words, the sky is their limit.
Next up is a trip to Tema, where Port City will face Vision FC as they look to build on their encouraging run. A positive result would further strengthen their claim as one of the breakout stories of the Ghanaian season and keep the momentum rolling for Ennin and his charges.
