FIFACWC: Al Ahly’s Emam Ashour Ruled Out of the Tournament with Collarbone Injury

Share

Al Ahly midfielder Emam Ashour will miss the rest of the 2025 Club World Cup in the United States after suffering a broken collarbone in the opening match Group A against Inter Miami on Saturday.

The 27-year-old was taken off after just 14 minutes at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens having gone down in discomfort holding his shoulder.

He was replaced by Zizo, who won a penalty for Al Ahly in the 43rd minute, but was missed by former Aston Villa forward Trezeguet.

“Medical examinations on Emam Ashour in a Miami hospital showed he sustained a broken collarbone, and he will miss the remaining matches in the Club World Cup,” Al Ahly doctor Ahmed Gaballah said on the club’s X account.

Ashour was the top goalscorer in the 2024-25 Egyptian Premier League, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists as Al Ahly won a record-extending 45th title.

They will face Palmeiras in East Rutherford in their next Group game followed by Portuguese giants FC Porto.
