Floyd Mayweather wants to train Deontay Wilder ahead of Tyson Fury trilogy fight

Share

Floyd Mayweather has offered to train Deontay Wilder for his trilogy bout with Tyson Fury, and is confident that with his guidance, the Bronze Bomber can avenge his pummelling defeat by the Gypsy King.

Fury totally dominated Wilder in Las Vegas at the end of February to break the American’s 43-fight unbeaten run and five-year reign as WBC king.

And Mayweather has thrown his hat in the ring to train Wilder, and believes that with his help, the Bronze Bomber can win back his title against Fury.

During a Q&A session on his UK tour, Mayweather, who is now retired, offered to help Wilder prepare for the trilogy, and said: 'If I train him. If I train him I can teach him how to win.'

Mayweather supported Wilder after he suffered his first professional defeat.

The 43-year-old posted online: “Win, Lose or Draw.... Deontay @BronzeBomber is our brother that has accomplished many triumphs and as a community we should all uplift and support him throughout it all.

“No matter what, you're still a winner in my eyes, King!”
