Francis Ngannou fires UFC title contenders to “stop fighting on social media”

UFC’s Francis Ngannou has slammed his colleagues for “fighting” on Twitter, instead of taking each other on in the Octagon.

The Cameroonian took out his frustration on Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic, who he believes are holding up the division.

The aforementioned duo are scheduled to face off for the UFC Heavyweight belt, but a date is yet to be decided.

UFC President Dana White even labeled the fight a priority and said he was keenly looking forward to it.

The fight between Miocic and Cormier has, however, delayed due to matters out of the UFC’s control, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

Having engaged each other in a banter on Twitter, Ngannou interjected and called on both fighters to settle their differences in the ring, instead of social media.

Miocic wrote: “The time has come. Who’s ready!?” Cormier responded to this with the tweet “You’re done!”

Quoting the latter’s tweet, Ngannou called on both fighters to hit the Octagon and stop being keyboard warriors.

“It’s been almost a year now so stop fighting on social media and sign the contract on your desks and let’s move on,” the Cameroonian wrote.

Ngannou has been itching for a shot at the UFC Heavyweight belt, having had an impressive run in recent months.

He is on a run of four consecutive knockouts, a winning streak that has seen him batter two former Heavyweight champs, as well as the previously undefeated Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
