The GFA wrapped a week-long Licence D course in Prampram, giving coaches from across Ghana the tools to grow the fast-rising indoor game.
Ghana is building its futsal future from the sideline up. The Ghana Football Association has completed a week-long Licence D Coaching Course at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, putting coaches from across the country through intensive training in the indoor game.
The curriculum covered the essentials: futsal fundamentals, coaching methodology, attacking and defensive principles, set pieces and the Laws of the Game. Coaches moved between classroom theory and hands-on practical work, sharpening both their tactical understanding and their ability to put ideas into practice on court.
Moroccan instructor Ghassane El Barhami led the sessions alongside members of the GFA Technical Directorate. Morocco has become one of the continent's standout futsal nations, so the instruction carries real weight. Participants also took on group assignments, watched demonstrations and sat assessments designed to prove they can coach effectively in a discipline that is growing quickly.
The GFA says this is only the start. Licence D is meant to serve as a foundation for further coaching education, opening a pathway for participants to chase higher qualifications. For Ghana, the message is clear: if futsal is going to thrive, the investment has to begin with the people teaching it.
