Ghana’s Jordan Ayew voted Crystal Palace Player of the Season

Jordan Ayew has been voted Player of the Year at Crystal Palace following an impressive season with the club.

The Ghana international was undoubtedly the Eagles’ best performer, contributing nine goals and two assists.

The 28-year-old was duly rewarded for his impact this season, as he won big at the club’s annual awards.

In addition to the Player of the Season award, Ayew also scooped the Players’ Player of the Year and Goal of the Year awards.

The forward, however, dedicated his awards to the late former Olympique Marseille President Pape Diouf.

“When I have this type of award, I think about one man that has been so influential in my football career, Pape Diouf,” Ayew told Crystal Palace TV.

“He passed away during the period of COVID and I wish he was still here for me to present him this award.

“He was so influential in my football career. He was the one who opened the doors for me in my football career.

“He was more than a father and I like to thank him very much because if it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

Diouf passed on earlier this year after falling ill and was later confirmed to have died of Coronavirus.
