The GFA says March 2027 is locked in, but questions over stadiums and spending are growing louder as the clock ticks.
Ghana says the Black Satellites' big continental moment is still coming. The Ghana Football Association insists the country will stage the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in March, even as worries grow over how ready the hosts really are.
GFA Communications Director Henry Asante Twum was firm in a radio interview, declaring that nothing has changed and that Ghana still has what it takes to deliver the tournament. His message was clear: the plan is intact and the commitment is real.
But the doubts are not going away. Several proposed venues need work, and observers are questioning how much investment is going into the build-up. Accra Sports Stadium is understood to be the only ground currently certified for CAF competitions, while Kumasi's Baba Yara Stadium and Cape Coast Stadium face questions over whether they will be ready in time.
Asante Twum also backed GFA President Kurt Okraku's push to bring junior tournaments to Ghana, arguing that hosting such events is vital to developing the country's football. Whether that vision translates into upgraded pitches, certified stadiums and a smooth tournament will be the real test. With March 2027 approaching, all eyes will be on Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast to see if the promises become reality.
