The 2026/27 Ghana Women's Premier League kicks off this weekend, with ex-champions Hasaacas heading to El Wak to face Army Ladies.
Ghana's Women's Premier League is back. The 2026/27 season gets underway this weekend with fixtures spread across several league centres, and the Southern Zone opens with a heavyweight clash in the capital.
Hasaacas Ladies, a former champion, travel to El Wak Sports Stadium on Saturday to face Army Ladies. The hosts want to turn home advantage into an early statement, but they meet one of the most established sides in Ghanaian women's football. Hasaacas have won this competition before and will expect to make Army work hard for every inch.
Newcomers Rootz Sistaz make their top-flight debut at home against Oak Ladies, a first taste of the big stage for a club that has worked hard to get there. Elsewhere, Jonina Ladies begin a fourth straight Premier League season by hosting former champions Police Ladies at the Antie Aku Astro Turf. Jonina have won both of their previous season openers since promotion, while Police are looking for a strong start as they chase a return to the top four.
Samartex Ladies also open their 2026/27 campaign at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena, welcoming Epiphany Warriors. With a new season, new faces and plenty to prove, the opening weekend should show who is ready to make a push.
