Gremio winger Francis Amuzu is being linked with a return to Anderlecht, the Belgian club where he came through, as his contract winds down.
Francis Amuzu's journey between Europe and South America could be about to take another turn. The Ghanaian-Belgian winger is being linked with a return to Anderlecht, the club that shaped him, just over a year after he left for Brazil.
The 27-year-old moved from Anderlecht to Gremio in February 2025 in a deal worth around €1.2m. His contract in Porto Alegre runs until 31 December 2026, and with the final months approaching, his former club is reportedly keeping an eye on him. His market value is currently listed at €8m. A move would bring him back to the club where he developed through the academy and made his name.
At Gremio, the left winger has made 25 appearances in the Brazilian Serie A this season. He has started roughly two-thirds of the team's league matches, with one goal and three assists. He has also featured in the domestic cup and the Copa Sudamericana. His best returns in 2026 have come in the Copa do Brasil, where he has two goals and two assists in six games. He also played his part as Gremio lifted the Campeonato Gaucho in the 2025-26 season.
For now this is only a rumour. No deal has been agreed, and Amuzu remains a Gremio player. Still, a switch to the Jupiler Pro League would be a notable chapter for a diaspora talent who has already shown he can adapt to football on two continents.
