Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Issah, 34, is reportedly on Samaleswari SC's radar, but he remains a Real Kashmir player for now.
Another chapter could be unfolding in the well-travelled career of Ghanaian midfielder Kamal Issah. Samaleswari SC are reportedly weighing a move for the 34-year-old defensive midfielder, who currently plays for Real Kashmir. The switch would keep him in the Indian Football League.
Issah arrived at Real Kashmir in October 2023 after a spell without a club, and he has turned that fresh start into a settled place in Indian football. In 46 league appearances he has scored three goals and set up five more, numbers that show a steady presence in the middle of the park.
His story is a classic Ghanaian journey across continents. Issah began at Liberty Professionals before Rennes signed him in 2010. From there he moved through Denmark and Norway, with stops at Nordsjælland and Stabæk, before building a long Turkish chapter at Genclerbirligi, Eskisehirspor, Istanbulspor, Altay Keciorengucu and Ostersund. In Turkey he made 64 appearances in the 1. Lig and 40 in the Super Lig. He also featured once in the UEFA Champions League and twice in Europa League qualifying.
For now, this is only a rumour. There is no sign of an agreement between Issah and Samaleswari, and he remains a Real Kashmir player. Still, the interest says plenty about how African talents can carry their experience from Europe to new markets like India, and keep earning respect there.
