The Western Regional FA is in mourning after the death of Alex Adu, the former PRO who spent years promoting football across the region.
Ghana's Western Region football community is grieving. The Western Regional Football Association (WRFA) has confirmed the death of Alex Adu, who served as its Public Relations Officer for several years.
In an official statement released on Monday, October 19, the WRFA called Adu a devoted member of the association's family. It credited his commitment and service with helping to grow and promote the game across the region.
The association said his contribution to football administration will not be forgotten. It described his passing as a major loss to the WRFA, to the wider football fraternity, and to everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
On behalf of its Executive Council, staff, clubs and the football fraternity in the Western Region, the WRFA extended heartfelt condolences to Adu's family, friends and loved ones. "May his soul rest in perfect peace," the statement read.
Behind every matchday, every fixture and every story that carries the local game forward, there are administrators and communicators who do the quiet work. Alex Adu was one of them, and the Western Region is honouring his legacy as it says goodbye.
