Hampshire have added all-rounder Saif Zaib after his Northamptonshire exit, and the signing is a clear statement of intent for a Division One return.
Hampshire have moved quickly to land Saif Zaib, signing the all-rounder after his departure from Northamptonshire on Thursday. The deal gives the club a versatile option who can shape a game with both bat and ball.
The signing fits Hampshire's goal of getting back into the top flight of the County Championship. Zaib's ability to contribute in several departments gives the squad extra balance and flexibility, which matters across a long county season.
For Zaib, it is a fresh start and a chance to test himself in a new dressing room. All-rounders are among the most prized assets in the domestic game, and a move like this puts him at the center of a club with clear ambitions.
The focus now turns to how quickly he settles in and how much he can add to the promotion push. If he hits the ground running, Hampshire's push to return to Division One could look much stronger.
