Asante Kotoko's interim boss admits the results aren't good enough but promises a stronger Porcupine Warriors side ahead of the Berekum Chelsea clash.
Asante Kotoko interim head coach Hamza Obeng is rallying the Porcupine Warriors after a rough patch in the Ghana Premier League, promising supporters that better days are coming.
Kotoko are now winless in their last two league outings after a 1-1 draw with defending champions Medeama SC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday. The result extended a frustrating run for one of Ghana's biggest clubs and left the faithful wanting more.
Speaking after the final whistle, Obeng pointed to wasted chances as the key reason his side missed out on all three points. He made no attempt to hide his disappointment. "We are not okay with the results. We are not getting the needed points, but we are keeping focused, and we will make sure we improve so that we can get a stronger team and fight in every game," he said.
The chance to respond comes quickly. Kotoko travel to face Berekum Chelsea in a week 10 fixture on Sunday, November 8, with kickoff set for 3 pm at the Golden City Park. For Obeng and his players, it is a big opportunity to turn words into points and put the club's season back on track.
