Alex Hernandez punishes ten-man Stockport with a stunning free-kick to double Cray Wanderers' lead after Luca Ashby-Hammond's red card.
Cray Wanderers turned a moment of Stockport madness into a statement goal. Alex Hernandez struck a superb free-kick to double the home side's advantage, moments after the visitors were reduced to ten men.
The drama began when Stockport goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond brought down an opponent on the edge of his own box. The referee wasted no time in producing a straight red card, leaving his side without their last line of defence at a critical stage of the contest.
The foul also handed Cray a dangerous set piece in a prime position, and Hernandez made the most of it. With a depleted Stockport side scrambling to reorganise, he delivered a fantastic effort that sent the Cray supporters into raptures and stretched the lead to two goals.
It was a punishing swing for Stockport. A defensive lapse led to the dismissal, the dismissal led to the free-kick, and the free-kick led to a second goal. Cray, meanwhile, had a two-goal cushion and a man advantage to protect.
